Explanation of the logo

Back The logo consists of a large curve which is a normal distribution curve, commonly used in psychology to denote a specific idealised frequency distribution in a population.

The CR (my initials) are at the far end of the curve suggesting that they (and so I) are exceptional in some way, for example I am quite tall. Modesty forbids further exemplars...

The normal (median in this case) of the curve has been turned into a Greek letter psi which is often used as a shorthand for psychology, although I am more interested in critical psychology and a reasoned integration of various fields concerning humanity, rather than the unthinking adherence to the mainstream which the letter so often represents.

The central stroke of the psi (and median of the curve) has further been turned into a rod of Asclepius through the addition of the snake entwined around it. This is to denote healing through counselling practice.

Lastly the colours of pink and blue are meant to represent the gender binary, with purple as another option. Gender is a very common social binary and so is an excellent example to use to highlight my questioning of reductionism and binary systems (of gender and many others), which is a theme that is reflected in much of my work and thinking.
